Owner Tim Ryan had said late in 2008 that he was planninyg to remodel and cut 50 percenr ofthe store’s floor space at 4009 N. Oaklanxd Ave. However, Ryan announced Tuesda the store will relocate toa 4,100-square-foot space in the Lakewood Building, 3575 N. Oaklandc Ave., in September. Ryan, who owns Harleys with his Janet, said he wantedf to stay in Shorewood. “This is our home and we are deeplty committed tothe community,” he said. Ryan said one of the advantageas of the new siteis off-streetf parking. The Lakewood a mixed-use residential/commercial property constructedin 1962, is undergoing a $1.2 milliojn renovation.
The building is owned by Garrett Harleys has contracted with architect Stephebn Bollingbroke of Development Collaborativse Limited in Mequon to do aninteriort buildout. The village of Shorewood provided financiao incentives to both the buildinvg owner and Harleys to improve the facadew and interior space of theLakewood Building.
